While sitting in a cafe with friends there was a moment when all of us were on our \u00e2\u20ac\u0153smart phones\u00e2\u20ac\u009d at the same time.\u00c2\u00a0 When the server noticed she told us she wasn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t going to get into using a smart phone because \u00e2\u20ac\u0153it will be the downfall of our abilities to communicate with one another.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n

It just happened that each of us at that table was looking up something to share with the others to enhance our conversations.<\/p>\n

Our smart phone technology may just have the potential for \u00e2\u20ac\u0153re-wiring\u00e2\u20ac\u009d our own internal hardware for building peaceable and compassionate communities, especially with the imagery that we see and create with them.\u00c2\u00a0 Creating and engaging with imagery we can nurture the right side of our brains.<\/p>\n

I agree with Shlain\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s \u00e2\u20ac\u0153optimistic appraisal that the proliferation of images in film, TV, graphics and computers is once again reconfiguring the brain by encouraging right hemispheric modes of thought and bringing about the reemergence of the feminine.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Hungry Mind Review<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Canon, Nikon, … iPhone … lets have at it.\u00c2\u00a0 The more engaged we are with imagery the more possibility there will be for a paradigm shift from patriarchal domination to egalitarian compassion!\u00c2\u00a0 I think the succulent and anthuriums are with us on this one.<\/p>\n
