{"id":636,"date":"2013-05-28T03:20:58","date_gmt":"2013-05-28T03:20:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stacy.awegallery.com\/?p=636"},"modified":"2013-05-28T21:08:57","modified_gmt":"2013-05-28T21:08:57","slug":"may-week-4-full-moon-rising","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/stacy.awegallery.com\/?p=636","title":{"rendered":"May week 4 &#8211; Full Moon rising from every direction"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The New Moon always rises at sunrise.<br \/>\nThe first quarter Moon rises at noon.<br \/>\nThe Full Moon rises at sunset.<br \/>\nThe last quarter Moon rises at midnight.<br \/>\nMoonrise takes place about 50 minutes later each day than the day before.<\/p>\n<p>But moonrise over Alcatraz happened this way&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/stacy.awegallery.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/May-4-MoonAlcatrazWeb.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-637 alignright\" alt=\"May 4 - MoonAlcatrazWeb\" src=\"http:\/\/stacy.awegallery.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/May-4-MoonAlcatrazWeb.jpg\" width=\"450\" height=\"338\" srcset=\"http:\/\/stacy.awegallery.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/May-4-MoonAlcatrazWeb.jpg 500w, http:\/\/stacy.awegallery.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/May-4-MoonAlcatrazWeb-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a>I am not ready to give up on my DSLRs and my 20 pound back pack of equipment.\u00c2\u00a0 But I will confess I consider my iPhone and an array of apps an additional powerful tool for image making.\u00c2\u00a0 Plus, your iPhone (or other mobile devices) is always with you.<\/p>\n<p>Last week when I saw a beautiful cloud over Alcatraz I couldn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t resist figuring out a way to render it more dramatically than what the flat late morning light and hazy atmosphere were offering.<\/p>\n<p>A super moon was in the sky this past week but fog prevented me from seeing it.\u00c2\u00a0 That moon would have made for a spectacular picture if I could also have figured out where to stand to position it over Alcatraz or some other recognizable foreground.\u00c2\u00a0 But this image is the aforementioned iPhone capture manipulated in the app called LensLight.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/stacy.awegallery.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/May-4-AgapanPaint-web.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-638\" alt=\"May 4 - AgapanPaint web\" src=\"http:\/\/stacy.awegallery.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/May-4-AgapanPaint-web.jpg\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"http:\/\/stacy.awegallery.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/May-4-AgapanPaint-web.jpg 375w, http:\/\/stacy.awegallery.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/May-4-AgapanPaint-web-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 375px) 100vw, 375px\" \/><\/a>A fellow photographer recently went on and on about how using mobile devices\/apps just provide the world with tons of images that all look alike.\u00c2\u00a0 I disagree.\u00c2\u00a0 Photograph,y like other visual arts, is about using your tools to present your vision.\u00c2\u00a0 In addition to choosing a particular application to transform one\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s capture there is the possibility of applying the app in a variety of ways\/degrees and then adding several other apps in any given order.<\/p>\n<p>The second image is an Agapanthus bud.\u00c2\u00a0 After choosing my angle and capturing the image with Camera Plus, (love the way you tap for the focus area and the second tap is on the area you desire your exposure reading), I then optimized my image with slight adjustments in Snapseed.\u00c2\u00a0 Next I used the app \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Colorblast\u00e2\u20ac\u009d which converts to black and white and then you paint back in the areas you want in color.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 Finally, I used the app Auto Paint 3 with the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153chalk\u00e2\u20ac\u009d effect.<\/p>\n<p>I have only begun to scratch the surface with new ways to expand my art, vision and world.\u00c2\u00a0 It is my new moon.\u00c2\u00a0 How about you?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The New Moon always rises at sunrise.
